Beginner Crafting Guide

Before You Begin

You will first need to construct a Smithy. In your city, the Smithy can be built right in front of the steps to your Keep. Your Smithy is represented by an anvil icon on your city’s map.

How Do I Find Recipes?

To begin crafting, tap on your Smithy and select “Crafting.”

When you open the crafting panel, you will see 4 options:

Clicking on Recipes will take you to the Forge, you can craft items under the following categories:

• Helmet
• Chest
• Pants
• Boots
• Ring
• Weapon
• Trinket

Clicking on the image will take you to the appropriate recipe page.

Filtering Item Recipes

Once you have clicked on the category you wish to craft from, you may choose to filter for particular attributes by clicking the Filters button and/or using the dropdown currently displaying the word Poor.

Forging and Item Rarity

After you have chosen attributes and the quality that meet your needs, you can scroll through to view the options available. If you have the materials, a blue “Forge” button will display next to the item in question and the small circles showing the required materials will not have an X in them.

Clicking the blue Forge button will take you to the Manage Equipment screen for that item.

You may also want to check an item's stats when choosing which item to craft. You can see these by clicking the stats button under the image of the item.

The percentage at which these stats increase will depend on the rarity of the item crafted, based on the quality of the items used.

Moving back to the forge screen, it shows we need 2 different materials to make this Wooden Bucket Helmet. Clicking on the Weirwood will display all qualities of Weirwood with the amounts in your inventory underneath. Click one and it will add 10 to the Forge.

Note: The background color of the chosen material coincides with the rarities listed above.

The view will then shift to the next item. Click again to choose whichever quality you would like to use and the display will change to include the Odds of Quality. As the example uses 2 poor-quality materials, it will be a poor quality item.

Clicking the Forge button will start the countdown to your new equipment. You will see the progress at the top of the main recipe page.

How Do I Accelerate Crafting? 

You have the option to accelerate crafting by using gold or speed-ups by clicking the double arrow icon at the right.

Collecting and Equipping Items

Once your item has finished crafting, you can collect it from the recipe panel.

Or if you are outside of the Smithy, it will be shown hovering overhead.

To benefit from the bonuses from your new Gear, you will first need to equip it. Click either and then head to your Liege panel to equip it. To get there, click on your character portrait in the upper left of the main screen.

You will see your character surrounded by equipment or empty slots. Click the slot that corresponds to the item you just created.

From there, you can click equip to "wear" any of the available items for that slot.
