What are Trinkets?
Trinkets can be equipped in your profile or from the smithy to apply certain bonuses, similar to other equipment like Helms, Chest Pieces, Gloves, Pants, or Boots. However, Trinkets follow slightly different crafting rules.
How Do I Craft Trinkets?
In our crafting guide, we learned that all equipment of a level 5 or higher that you craft in the Smithy will require several crafting materials plus a lower level item to consume in the process.
For equipment (gear that can be equipped to the head, chest, legs, hands, or feet slots) this consumed gear can be any other type of equipment. For example, you can use a level 5 pair of boots to craft a level 10 helm.
For trinkets, you can only consume a lower-level version of the same trinket you are trying to craft. For example, a Level 5 Silk Stole would require level 1 Silk Stole trinket (along with other crafting materials) to craft it.
Note: Gear Templates will not work as stand-ins for the consumed trinket in the recipe.
The only exception to this rule is when trinkets use the same Advanced Resource (sometimes called Event Crafting Materials) in their crafting recipes. For example, the Young Dragon’s Leash trinket can be used to craft the Dragonlord’s Horn. Both of these trinkets use Valyrian Artifacts as the Advanced Resource in their crafting recipes.
