What are Strategic Events?
In Strategic Terrain events, you fight to collect superior resources from unique combat-enabled gathering nodes. You gain points for gathering rare and valuable resources that you are not able to collect from any other type of gathering node. If you collect the last resource and finish the node, you will be rewarded with additional resources.
While gathering at a Strategic Terrain node you can be attacked by players outside your Allegiance. Strategic Terrain nodes cannot be reinforced or rallied against to keep the combat focused on one-on-one combat as they feature Keep level maximums to ensure even matches with your competition.
These nodes can be scouted just like a Keep or Seat of Power. However, scouting, marching on a node, and gathering there will not remove your Peace Shield. This allows you to battle against other players at Strategic Terrain nodes while your keep remains safe. Please keep in mind that gathering boosts do not apply to Strategic Terrain Nodes.
You can research the ability to send your Dragon to Strategic Terrain to make your army there even more powerful—on attack or on defense.
How does Strategic Terrain combat work?
If you are gathering at a node, are attacked, and win, you stay at the node and continue gathering with your remaining troops.
If you are gathering at a node, are attacked, and lose, your troops will march home with some of the resources you already gathered. Some of the resources are destroyed, some are returned to the node, and your attacker gets a head start gathering some. They are then able to remain at the node and gather what is left, including any completion bonuses. All amounts will be listed in your Strategic Terrain Battle Reports.
Strategic Terrain Node Spawns
Looking for higher-level nodes? Search near higher level Seats of Power, they are more likely to spawn there.
Can’t find nodes of your level? Look near other types of nodes around the same level, Strategic Terrain nodes are more likely to spawn near other nodes close to their level. Can’t find any at all? Strategic Terrain nodes spawn continually as they are collected. The faster they are gathered, the faster they will appear.
