Over the past few months, we've noticed more and more discussions around events. One theme that pops up fairly consistently is the desire to have more things to do, particularly around weekdays. Armed with player feedback, our design team has taken a fresh look at some new types of activities we’re starting to roll out in the weeks to come.
In order to strike a balance between our regular monthly events and these new event types, we’re focusing on shorter event durations. Our hope is that shorter run events will allow for more diversity of content and let more people participate.
We also know that having too many events can be exhausting, and each type of event will have its own challenges. To combat this, we’re starting with two new event variations focused on Crafting and PVP.
Crafting Events: These will be the seasonal crafting events you know and love, but there are a few different ways we can split these up across three seasons of gear. Do you enjoy a quick burst of activity (24 hours or shorter)? Do you prefer them running one after the other or all at once? Is it more rewarding for a longer event to be broken down into 3 shorter ones, or is having that many events in a row overwhelming?
- PVP Events: Next week we’re launching a new type of midweek PVP event centered around combat at Strategic Terrain only. For those who love PvP, this will be a more laid back version that can safely happen outside PvP weekends. It does not incentivize attacking individual keeps or Seats of Power, and your shield does not need to be dropped to take part.
Let Us Know What You Think!
We look forward to mixing things up and working with you to find a fun and rewarding balance for the event calendar! Please join us for a chat next week on Discord after you have a chance to interact with these events:
