The Armory and Gear Templates
Greetings!
We have a new feature coming soon, The Armory! In addition to the Armory we have a new item that is available now, Gear Templates. Read all about both below.
The Armory
The Armory makes use of your past gear sets to give you an overall bonus to power and specific buffs!
Gear that you add from your inventory to Collections will unlock persistent buffs. Having more pieces at higher levels and higher quality all contribute to the power of your buffs. All the bonuses unlocked from every collection are active as long as the pieces remain there on display. While gear is displayed in your Armory, it cannot be worn for bonuses.
Each gear set in the Armory is its own Collection. Each Collection can award three specific combat buffs if you are displaying gear of the required quality level. Each Collection buff lists the required equipment to activate that buff. You may use higher quality levels of gear than the buff requires. Each gear piece that you display in your Armory Collections effects both the level of your Collection and the amount of the buff you receive.
How do I use the Armory?
You can access your Armory from the Crafting Hub. Click on your Smithy to open your crafting panel and select the new Armory option at the bottom of the screen below Equipment and Materials.
When you open the Armory you will see a list of past gear sets that provide Collection bonuses. Gear sets are listed in order of release, newest to oldest. To display equipment in a Collection and unlock bonuses, tap “Manage” and then select the slot you want to fill with gear you already have in your equipment.
You can also craft pieces of gear to fill in a Collection directly from your Armory. Open a Collection. Choose the category of gear you would like to add, we will use a helm for this example. Click on the helm in the gear Collection details page. If you have the helm already in your inventory, you can add it this way; if you do not, clicking on the helm will bring you to the correct recipe so that you may craft the item. Additionally, clicking on the button to the left of the Collection name, that has the trophy icon, will bring you to the forge recipes for that Collection.
The power contributed to your overall power by a Collection is listed to the right of that Collection's name. It is indicated by the crossed swords icon. Bonuses gained from your Armory Collections are included in the Overall category of the Stats tab (found to the right of your Profile.
You may not have two of the same pieces of gear in a Collection, even if they differ in level and/or quality. If you add a different version of a piece already displayed, the current piece will be sent back to your inventory.
Updates to the Smithy
Craftable items in your Smithy will now also show their Collection score value. This will allow you to make the best choices about which pieces to craft. The “Item Detail” panel will show you how your Collection score changes with different quality levels of gear.
Gear Templates
We have added a new item that makes completing Collections and crafting higher levels of gear easier: Gear Templates. Gear templates take the place of the piece of gear you would normally sacrifice to create another piece of gear. They're great for filling in the missing pieces in your Collections!
Gear Templates are currently available in packs. You can also find Gear Templates in your Store tab under the new Special category of item types. You can purchase them for gold here, or at the point of crafting a new piece of gear in the crafting menu. After purchase, Gear Templates can be found in your Smithy under “Equipment” inventory, they are not included in My Items.
Thank you for playing!

I completely agree with the last 2 people I have spent alot of money on the packages for gold and shields and I know off hand I have used 3 of my 3 day piece shields to not be attacked after spending money on healing al my men from being attacked previously and damn if I wasn't attacked back to back while shielded I really like playing this game but I lost out on atleast $80 worth of packages to build my keep up and heal all my men and upgrade buildings just to be attacked while I was shielded

Bwahahaha that's the funniest posts I've read for a long time. WB don't give a toss if you don't get the right things in your packs. I've spend loads on this game and not recieved half of what I bought. You can put in tickets and emails and all you get is the usual bs. Have you updated your game/phone, have you tried restarting your device/router. I'm sorry, but unless you spend thousands of dollars on this game, WB don't give two shits

WB dev stop adding features yet. just focus on fixing bugs what hell... i have 3 packs ibougth you still not give the items and refund. no one answer my tickets what the hell...the gane have a tons of bugs need to be fix. all you know is grabbing money and tempting players by trash packs and the game is not worth it to spend money. the game is trash for now. bugs glich everywhere

Agreed with the person above.
This feature is completely flawed whilst you cannot put sets into the Armoury templates and also wear them. It's completely counter-intuitive.
One would want to benefit from the Cavalry buffs of Dornish items when attacking with Cavalry... Yet you can't get both the Armoury and Gear bonuses. Completely pointless feature in it's current design.
Sort this out before release.

I am sincerely hoping that the intent of the armory is not to force players to craft the same materials twice in order to use in the armory and during combat. If that is the case, this is a major change of the rules of the game in the middle of the game. I find this extremely unfair and deceitful to long time players that have invested time, money, and energy to perfect their gear only to find out that it's needed to be done again. While I realize WB's priority is monetary gain, I find this level of change to the rules of the game borderline abusive.
This is pushing a lot of people (including some long time players in my allegiance) to other games and it's becoming harder to justify spending more money in this game with the ever changing rules of the game (not to mention the constant glitches that seem to never be resolved). Please consider allowing the dual use of the same gear for both combat and the new armory. Alternatively, while I'll maintain somewhat of a presence in this game, most of my time and money will be shifted to other games.

There are a few purposes for this:
- Power inflation: require people to stay current with the game in order to have the same power relative to other players
- Use outdated gear: some of the gear have become outdated due to rules changes, most recently the change allowing "vs. Player" stats to be counted at SoPs, so having something to do with those level 40+ Blackfyre gear is nice
- Increase differences between troop types: a number of the stats are narrowly targeted at different troop types increasing the effects of that troop type decision
- Money and material sink: at a certain point you don't need to spend a whole lot in order to maintain your power level; there are ongoing costs to maintain this game so they will continue to add things that encourage people to spend
So, yes, in some ways it is a play to get folks to craft the same gear multiple times. This isn't a game where you spend and then dominate indefinitely. They will continue to add sinks to get you to either spend more or drop relative to others who do.
