I posted this over a month ago and it got taken down and I got banned on a technicality – but since then, not only have the issues not been addressed – they have gotten worse.
The game is dying because of a fatal flaw since conception. On the one hand new players are complete fodder and get zeroed often once a day. On the other hand, we have complete stagnation at the top.
I have 28 million power. Around 2.5 million troops. The entire server couldn’t take me down. At the same time I can’t realistically kill anyone with over 200,000 troops. I am part of a clan with twenty players over 10 million power and half a dozen over 20 million. We can’t even rally anyone with over 1 million troops. 700,000+ is VERY expensive. And with the ability to have infinite reigns in a SOP – every SOP has 1 million troops.
There are ways to fix this. I personally think a level range limitation on who you can attack is the WORST way. Here is my idea (which I’m sure isn’t perfect).
Make it way cheaper to heal troops. Also make it faster when healing a large number. Make it so that tents can protect a larger number of troops, but make it so that it’s not 100% wounded 0% killed when they are not at capacity (maybe 100% to 50,000, 70% 50,001 to 100,000, 50% 100,000-200,000 etc…). At the same time prevent instant healing of troops. This makes it so if you get zeroed its not as painful long-term – but prevents defenders from spam healing troops to make rallies pointless.
Secondly have a limit on how many defender troops can defend at one time. I thought this was what the rookery was for – but it doesn’t work. At the same time make it easier to increase march sizes. The fact is no one should be immune from a rally of 6 of the most powerful people on the server. It can be a good and expensive fight – but 1 defender with 1 million troops should not be able to zero 6 attackers with 2 million troops each.
Right now I have a max march of 70,000, so with 6 people that’s 420,000 troops. With all our buffs and T8 troops its about 6 million power. If that rally runs into 700,000 troops we have to accept 6-8 losses to break through to where the odds are in our favor (which I think is fine). At 1,000,000 troops defending it takes 20 or 30 loosing attacks. And that’s assuming the defenders aren’t insta healing.
To further protect the small guys maybe you have a defense multiplier that kicks in only if the attackers have more troops than the defenders. And it gets larger the bigger the discrepancy.
Even if they fix combat it doesn’t fix the game. First the Kingdoms in the 20s 30s and 40s are DEAD. They need to figure out a way to revitalize them. That means getting rid of all the inactives and letting in new blood. It means probably merging 3 servers into 1. But none of that should be done until the combat is fixed or it will just be more stagnation.
Finally, they need to allow some kind of trading. They can have a building that control how much you can send or receive each day, or trip, and even how fast the caravan moves. But the fact is I spent A LOT of $$ on the game ($8,500) and I have a lot of stuff sitting in my inventory I should be able to share with clanmates to help them recover from an attack or grow. What exactly am I going to do with 500 shields? Meanwhile – once I run out of teleports I will probably quit the game.
