A Plea to Devs After SOP Changes

We've all been kicked from our SoPs and been given the bubble. Now I'm wondering what happens when that bubble runs out? We don't yet have the ability to reinforce our SoPs, so what will be defending it when the bubble runs out?

And every single person who was reining the SoP was sent home with no bubble to protect their troops. This is a huge mistake that will cost every player!

Did WB think before they kicked everyone their reinforcements from the SOPs? Some people may not realize their marches are returning because they have a timer on their reinforcements, and now there is a huge chance of them getting zeroed. Due to a mistake from WB. Is that normal? Maybe give an in-game announcement first before you kick their reins.

This is one of the most poorly planned change implementations I've seen. The announcement on forums last week was helpful. The follow up saying it would be early this week was also helpful. The follow up less than 3 hours before implementing the change without a time posted, no in game messaging would have been okay, except that YOU SENT EVERY REINFORCEMENT home. That's okay for the sop holders, but the people who were hiding troops at the sop had zero lead time or heads up they would be sent home today.
NOWHERE in your announcements did you notify people that the reinforcements would be sent home. Only that the sop owners would be random ported with a shield. Since we are keeping the sop, it seems reasonable to expect that you would have told us if the reinforcements to the sop would be sent home.
Your communication on this was terrible. And you should compensate the players who lost troops because of your lack of communication with the troops they lost because people are working or sleeping or God forbid they have a social event or family life.

This new update is absurd. There is no way that anyone can reasonably hold a seat with the new ruleset. No bonus that a seat provides is worth the risk that you take by putting your troops in a seat. SOPs are one of the cool things about this game. You managed to ruin it. Why should I care about KL when only 880k troops can be there to hold it? That's an easy rally for a team full of T8s. What was this change supposed to achieve? Except you making money for people losing multiple marches trying to hold a seat or more people going to T10?

Let me echo my friend here! How could you plan to protect the SoP owners and totally forget the reinforcers! We had several critical losses in K59 because of that change! Our small players were hit without any chance to avoid it since they were considering 10h+ of time for their troops to return from their reinforcements.

I don't know what will you do, but you MUST think on how to revert that impact for those small players....

It didn't mentioned the date/time of the change (only "early this week"). Small players relied on the timer available. It should have some kind of time cap to show players that their troops wouldnt remain for the expected time.

Exactly what I mean. There was a vague description of "early this week". Only small keeps will be hurt because of this. WB did something wrong and now players are getting zeroed because of it.

    1) You are not kicked out of your seat - you still hold the seat.  Your keep has been moved.  We no longer move into seats when we take them over.  It's a GOOD thing.  Now you're not chained to a seat anymore.  Go out, do events - bubble your keep if you need to.  Just make sure your seat is reinforced.

    2) Your seat has a 24 hour bubble so that you and you clan can adapt to the new changes that were (fairly) clearly outlined in the announcement (as in figure out how many reins and marches your seat can hold and get it reinforced)

    3) My clan’s seats are already being reinforced with the bubble in place – if you are saying that you literally CANNOT send reins, have no option when you click on the seat, you should submit a ticket.  If you are saying that you cannot rein your seats because you simply don’t have enough members in your clan to do so, then you shouldn’t be holding seats in the first place.

    4) As for troops being sent home, yeah, a little notice on these changes being implemented (early next week very quickly became HEY!  We gave you the update!!) would have been nice.

I m agree with what was said up here.
The game updates become a real mess those last time.
Making change without a warning is a shame.
You better have To give ppl more than the poor 300 gold of the last time.
The way you, devs, acting is very bad.
Most of players will quit coz there is no more safe zone for their troops.
If the way you are heading is only making money, you better have To close this game.

Just another really good example of how out-of-touch the devs are. They don't understand how the game plays, so of course they have no idea what an appropriate number of reins would be. After all the evidence we've already had, this cluelessness isn't even a surprise.

Basically this means that Seats of Power can no longer be passively defended. Any Seat may be taken, at any time, if the attackers can get more folks on. The defenders have to actively defend it, have people be there and reinforce it while the attack is ongoing. Because on each attack the attackers are going to lose more than the defenders because their troops will be killed while the defenders' will be wounded.

So, what does this mean? Basically treat SoPs as somewhat disposable. You have no guarantee that tomorrow you will have the same Seats you have today. This is especially true for 2 star an under since they never window. 2.5 and higher will be closed during some periods, so I expect the hours before that to get busy if people really want them. In short players who used to be able to basically sit in an SoP and log in a couple of times a day to hunt and train troops will no longer have that option. You can do it, of course, assuming that you're of a power that people aren't going to mess with you or you shield, but you can't do it in an SoP.

Where it used to be troop count > troop tier > all it's now activity > troop tier > troop count > all. There are, of course, winners and losers from this change, as there inevitably are. But you should adjust your expectations of the game. You may decide you want to quit, but applying your understanding of the previous method of playing to the new rules is going to be an exercise in frustration. While I don't have any personal knowledge of T10s, since we don't have any in my kingdom, I'm pretty sure that stacking a 2 star SoP with them means they will still lose to rallies of a mix of T8s and T9s. It may hurt more, but the end is never in question. In order to hold it the defenders will need to cycle marches in and out, healing them as they go. As I said, defense now has to be active. If you put marches in an SoP you should assume there's a good likelihood that they will be wounded by the next day. You should reinforce, upgrade your medic tents and gear appropriately.

And they didn’t tell specifically that all reins will be sent back. I agree, some small keeps that are not online at that time maybe severely hurt due to that. Had they known before some may have put up a bubble on their own early enough.

At first there was no way to rein but now there is so that's explained. I really wish they explained how the reins worked more thoroughly before dropping this on everyone but it will be fun to see the changes in game. I feel bad for all of the little castles who's reinforcements returned and became targets to kill all of their soldiers  :-/

They don't listen, and I don't think they understand their game well enough to understand. Remember these are the guys who 'confimed' empty sop's only need six hits to conquer as recently as two weeks ago.

Funny how snowylocks has been all over the forums today, but hasn't bothered to address this. Make no mistake: if you don't spend money on this game, you have no place in the game or on these forums, apparently.

Actually, I did spend some money on this game, but overall I'm F2P myself. Thanks to my allegiance when my reins were returning they force ported me for a shield. Sadly, others have not been so fortunate due to this stupid move by WB. At least admit that you were wrong, WB.

Could you please make 12 hour shields available to buy for gold? 8 hours is usually not a great number for anyone who ever you know... goes to sleep on a night. As much as I like the game I don't wanna have to be the last thing I do on a night and the first on a morning.

In addition it appears that if you attempt to switch out owners of a seat of power you are unable to get a new.person in. We were attempting to use the 24 hour shield to prepare and found the seat owned by the original NPC and unable to have someone take it over. The statement that we received said "Additionally, Seats of Power will be locked for 24-hours, allowing owners and Allegiances time to reinforce them. During this period, Seats of Power cannot be attacked or scouted, but all other actions are allowed." Note that it does not say that you cannot switch owners which is a reasonable thing to do with the changes.

Congrats for the update. For the most part, I agree that this will make seats of power battles funnier.

There used to have a huge problem with seats of power that were too difficult to capture and you have solved it. However, I believe that seats of power are now too difficult to defend ! Also, you have make the low level players completely useless, because they can't contribute to the defense of seats of power anymore.

In order to restaure some form of balence, I suggest that you add a waiting list to the seats of power. My idea is that seats of power could received unlimited troops (but still limited to one march per player including the sop holder) , but only a limited amount (the numbers you have set are fine) could fight at once. Also, the strongest troops would fight first.

Yeah. Then they don't notify anyone of the changes being implemented so most small players got zeroed when their reins were sent back. Terribly organized and implemented as always. Let's see how they handle a kingdom merge...

The point that smaller, free-to-play players used the Seats of Power as a defensive holding point of safety does need to be instantly addressed by Warner Brothers.

Seats of Power allowed smaller players a safe haven for their troops and kept them in the game and the new reinforcement limits deny them this dependable safe-haven.

What solution are the devs offering to free-to-play players in light of these drastic changes?

It seems as though the amount of troops defending even a 4.5 star SoP is just barely comparable to the amount of troops that can be rallied in a top allegiance.

Does this mean any rally with a few t9 players can topple any SoP that is only reinforced with T8 troops? Even if they were online to heal and reinforce, it seems like 12 hours of them doing this would cost them way more than the attackers and they will simply need to back down.

Are they finally just making it so the people who have paid the most will get everything they want? Or will there be light at the end of the tunnel for those defending with T8s? Will there be enough of a "Wall bonus" from the SoPs to make a difference to a rally of a class one grade higher?

Well the goal would be for your allegiance to own multiple SoPs for them to spread their reinforcements around evenly as opposed to throwing too many in the same place.

Our server has many smaller SoPs that are still NPC owned because no one wants them, so it should be doable, though you will be vulnerable to bullies still.

It'll have the opposite effect. Nobody will try rein a 1 star SOP anymore because the reins limit will make it impossible to hold.
It is great for players with t9 troops to just jump around the kingdom zeroing reins in every seat just because they can.
