Mz friends are waiting!!!
Hello,
are there any updates for the friend code? Some mates wanted to join me in a new kingdom, but start from 0 after vale opening doesnt make really sence. Can we expect this feature in the next few days (until Saturday)?

Hi , unfortunately Friend Codes are currently under maintenance at this time. You can review this announcement for more information.

Real talk. Yes, I depend on making alts to get enough food and wood to grow my keep and build armies, but I don’t use 3rd party programs to do it. If WB doesn’t want us to use alts in this way, then they need to make lumber mills, farms, and gathering useful. Lumber mill and farm output should scale exponentially the way costs do. Also, there should be better rewards from gathering, especially at higher levels. Otherwise, it just becomes impossible to grow without spending 10d of thousands of dollars just to do regular things like making armies, studying maester technologies, and making small improvements to one’s keep. -
@Groveburners I agree. It's difficult enough for free (or almost free) players to keep up with the rich guys and without the rss gained from alts, we just can't play the game past a certain point. I would have given up a long time ago and not spent any money at all if it wasn't for the friend code 'hack'. If it's not back by this weekend's event, there are going to be a lot of people giving up because it just becomes impossible to do anything without spending copious amounts of money. -
Exactky. I’m not exactly F2P. I spend about $200/month in the game, which is far more than I’ve ever spent on a video game. It’s enough to get some keystones, red gold flake, and some gold with which to buy stamina potions.
One might think that eliminating farming alts would mean that I would spend more on the game to buy all the food and wood I need to keep going, but what would really end up happening is that I would realize that no matter how smarly or efficiently I played the game, there would be no possible way for me to grow at this point - and I would simply find another game. I would like to stay here. The game is OK, and I’ve met some wonderful people on my server. But I would like to know that Incan continue to progress even if it is at a slower pace than those with thousands of dollars to spend. -
Thank-you for the update, WB_Maegon. I guess the question on everyone’s mind is whether there more to this “maintenance” than simple maintenance? As I said above, I won’t hide the fact that I make and farm throw-away alts for the food and wood I need to progress. Regular sawmills, farms, and gathering don’t cut it by the time you’re in your high teens keep level much less into your 20s. If the purpose of this maintenance is to stop this practice, then WB needs to come up with a viable alternative. -
I just lost a good bannerman because of this. He was a Keep 16 player and had been Keep 16 for more than a month. Over the past week, he kept expressing how frustrated he was that he couldn’t get the resources to grow. I kept telling him to be patient. There was a technique available that could get him the food and wood he needed, but that we had to wait until Friend Codes came back. After a week longer of waiting, he just opened hos remaining boxes, quit the allegiance, and quit the game.
Again, WB, I know you probably hate the whole farming alts technique. However, it is a technique born of necessity and frustration. Legitimate techniques like upgrading sawmills and farms and gathering don’t give you the resources you need to progress. Somewhere in the high teens (keep level), the frustration sets in. For myself, I’m keep 23, and right now, I can’t get the resources just to build my army much less make any improvements to my keep. Even the maester technologies cost too much food and wood to try to research them at this point. Double checking my spending, I’m really more of a $300/month player, which hardly makes me a F2P player. And yet, I can’t progress. if I am feeling this kind of frustration, imagine what those with less money to spend are feeling. -
drum roll please. 12 DAYS LATER still doing maintenance on friend codes. hopefully we get 200 gold per day they have been working on it. It's the least they could do, this post states people have been quitting from having to wait to long for them to return. it would suck if we didnt get anything for waiting almost 2 weeks. Maybe a heads up for the next maintenance. Dont remove things till the new updates are worked out. Maybe have a beta version so things can be tested out so it doesnt have to affect the regular players for almost 2 weeks? Most apps have beta versions were these sort of issues get worked on.
