This week we are introducing Strategic Terrain, a new kind of gathering node, and with it a new type of event!
In Strategic Terrain events, you fight to collect superior resources from unique combat-enabled gathering nodes! You gain points for gathering rare and valuable resources that you can’t get from any other type of gathering node. In our first event, you can gather Dragon Lore! If you collect the last resource and finish the node, you will be rewarded with additional resources to strengthen your dragon.
Battle at Strategic Terrain nodes is new kind of battleground for Game of Thrones: Conquest! While gathering at Strategic Terrain your individual power will be tested by attacks from players outside your Allegiance. Nodes cannot be reinforced, nor can they be rallied against, meaning the combat at these nodes is truly one-on-one! Strategic Terrain nodes feature Keep level maximums to ensure that you are evenly matched with your competition!
These nodes can be scouted, and scouting, marching on a node, and gathering there do not remove your Peace Shield! Which means that you can battle against other players at Strategic Terrain while your keep remains safe. Gathering boosts do not apply to Strategic TerrainNodes.
Send your strongest march to gather from these valuable nodes. You can even research the ability to send your Dragon to Strategic Terrain to make your army even more powerful—on attack or on defense. Please note that you must complete the required research before your Dragon can be used on Strategic Terrain.
Future events will award points for gathering at Strategic Terrain and finishing a gather at Strategic Terrain will provide extra completion rewards like Firestones and bonus Feeds!
How does Strategic Terrain combat work?
If you are gathering at a node, are attacked, and win, you stay at the node and continue gathering with your remaining troops.
If you are gathering at a node, are attacked, and lose, your troops will march home with some of the resources you already gathered. Some of the resources are destroyed, some are returned to the node, and your attacker gets a head start gathering some. They are then able to remain at the node and gather what is left, including any completion bonuses. All of those amounts will be listed in your Strategic TerrainBattle Reports.
Strategic Terrain Node Spawns
Looking for higher level nodes? Search near higher level Seats of Power, they are more likely to spawn there.
Can’t find nodes of your level?
Look near other types of nodes around the same level, Strategic Terrain nodes are more likely to spawn near other nodes close to their level.
Can’t find any at all?
Strategic Terrain nodes spawn continually as they are collected. The faster they are gathered, the faster they will appear. If you cannot find any of the appropriate level it's likely you have encountered the bug below. And if you see a node you can’t gather from, message the location in allegiance chat. Your allies might thank you!
There is currently a bug that will cause you to not see Strategic Terrain nodes that are already being gathered from. We are working on a fix for this.
We hope you are as excited about this new type of Gathering Node as we are! Thank you for playing Game of Thrones: Conquest!
